Libby's London Merchant

From the Back of the Book:

"Man of Mystery"
Beautiful Miss Elizabeth Ames, better known as Libby, knew very little about the man who invaded her country manor. Only that he was Mr. Nesbitt Duke, a London merchant who had had an accident on the road.

Soon she knew even less. For it quickly became clear he was not who he claimed, and was not in her house by accident at all. But that was not the greatest mystery.

For Libby found out she had no idea of the secret longings of her own heart - and no clue what to do when passionate love took her by shocking surprise...

From the Inside Leaf:

"Awkward Awakening"
Nez took Libby in his arms and kissed her, feeling the trip-hammer of her heart against his chest. Smiling, he promised her, "You will be well provided for, and never have a moment's regret."

Libby took her hands off his shoulders. "Why should I have any cause to regret?"

"Well, sometimes these arrangements can be awkward," he said, reaching for her hands. She put them behind her back. "What arrangements?" she asked, her voice soft.

Nez knew she was girl of great good humor, so he laughed and flicked her cheek with his finger.

"Libby, my love, surely you never thought I meant to marry you."
